About Fibonacci

Fibonacci is a dynamic game of skill for two players; a game lasts ten to twenty minutes. The object of the game is to surround your opponent's centre piece with your six strike pieces.

"...the splendid Fibonacci. It's as easy to learn as Chinese checkers, as vicious as croquet, as deep as Go"

Mike Fox, Chess Monthly, at the Mindsports Olympiad

"Fibonacci is an excellent strategy game."

Luke McShane (international Chess Master), Sunday Express

"....an intriguing blend of Chess, Backgammon and Go."

Bill Hartston, the Independent.

RULES

Each player has one centrepiece, six strike pieces and six support pieces. The object of the game is to surround your opponent's centrepiece with your six strike pieces.

1. Each player gets one extra move for each turn taken, up to a maximum of six.

2. For each strike piece a player gets adjacent to his opponent's centrepiece, his opponent will lose a move on his next turn.

3. A player can move his piece either to an adjacent space, or, if it is part of an identical and connected group, to any space adjacent to that group, as a single move.

4. If a space is already occupied, the player can move to that space and displace the other piece to where he came from. A player can displace both his and his opponent's pieces in this way.

5. Centrepieces can be displaced but cannot be moved independently.

STRATEGY

(a) Scatter your opponent’s pieces

(b) Reduce the number of moves your opponent is allowed

(c) Don’t let the same happen to you!
